People always ask me what CFO stands for. Aside from powerful engines, of course, the initials were the 3 last names of the men who started it years ago as a trucking company and since then it has passed down through my family generations. Then I came along and things had to change. In 1997, my father, Gene, and I decided to make the change in business from trucking into racing, as we had always been drag racers as far back as I can remember. It all started out with mostly cylinder head development part time, until 1999 when I decided to make it a full time job. In 2002, I built a big block Chevy for my first contracted race team. Since then I have grown to cover a wide variety of engines, including big and small block, Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge, and have helped many different racing teams build a strong reputation at the track, by achieving and superseding their goals. I have even done my time in development for circle track racing, and after building engines over a 2 year period for the Nascar Dodge Weekly Series at Irwindale Speedway and setting new track records, I began to focus my attention back to my drag racing roots. My father and I had always wanted to find our way into the NHRA class racing scene, and in 2003, I was able to begin cylinder head development for my long time friends at Pro Trans, who race in the Super Stock class and have been very successful. After being approached by another team, I have been in Hemi development for the past year, and though I feel there is so much more to do, I am looking forward to introducing it very soon and seeing what it's got against a very competitive class. In addition, I am working on developing my own line of products. I always look forward to meeting new customers and pushing the limits on new technological advances in the racing industry, as well as, maintaining and strengthening my relationships with all my existing customers, who are the biggest reason I have been this successful. Thank you to all those whom I have had the pleasure of working with thus far. Erik Jones Owner C.F.O. Enterprises, Inc In Loving Memory of Gene Jones May 28, 1946 - July 12, 2004 Gene Jones was a devoted husband to his wife, Darlene, and father to his children, Erik and Andrea. His life revolved around cars, engines and racing. All his time went into building and rebuilding, whether it be restoring an old hot rod, taking apart a carburetor on the kitchen table or getting kicked out of RC car racing for having a race car that was too light. Erik, was born to follow in his footsteps, and at the young age of 5 he was at Gene's side, taking apart his first engine. When Erik was 14, Gene bought him his first car, a '66 Chevy II, which they restored together before Erik was even old enough to drive. Gene inspired many things in Erik's life including the love of racing, a strong character and a desire to always be moving forward. He made the dream of this business possible and he will never be forgotten. "Ounces is pounds." ~Gene Jones |
